The other day one of my students came up to me and said, "Christi and I were talking about you during 2nd. She said that she hopes she looks like you when she's your age..." I said, "I'm just 23! Contrary to what you all think, that's not quite old yet!" Talk about a back-handed compliment! haha
I also love talking to my 7th graders about stuff. They make me feel so old. They don't know who Tina Turner is....They barely remember when 9-11 happened (vague memory sort of thing)....They definitely don't remember when the internet wasn't in every home and they don't remember a time when everyone and their grandma had a cell phone.

That's what my aunt said...she retired last year from teaching. I just started this fall. She told me she wishes that she would have written down all the funny stuff she's heard over the years.
The thing is...those were 9th graders saying they hoped to look like me at my age. lol
